SQUARE KNOT
SQUARE KNOT STEPS-
-
With the left working cord, make an "L" shape - ensuring that the "L" is in front of the two filler cords but behind the working cord on the Right
-
Take the Right working cord (the one you did NOT make the "L" with), + bring that cord behind the middle two working cords, pinch those 3 cords with your thumb (the 2 filler cords + the Right working cord that you are currently moving)

-
Bring that Right working cord through the back of the loop on the left, pulling it over towards the left while keeping your thumb on the center cords to keep the knot steady as you tie
-
Tighten this 1/2 of the Square Knot by pulling down on the 2 filler cords while simultaneously pushing the 2 working cords up + out, thus completing 1/2 of the Square Knot!
-
To complete your Square Knot, you will repeat the same steps but this time starting on the RIGHT side - with the Right working cord, make a backwards "L" - ensuring that this backwards "L" is in front of the two filler cords but behind the Left working cord
-
Take the Left working cord (the one you did NOT make the "L" with), + bring that cord behind the middle two working cords, pinch those 3 cords with your thumb (the 2 filler cords + the Left working cord that you are currently moving)

Bring that Left working cord through the back of the loop on the Right, pulling it over towards the Right while keeping your thumb on the center cords to keep the knot steady as you tie
-
Tighten this 1/2 of the Square Knot by pulling down on the 2 filler cords while simultaneously pushing the 2 working cords up + out, thus completing one entire Square Knot! Important Tip: Remember to tie out + up rather than towards your self - this will prevent the knot from folding into itself
STRAIGHT WRAP
STRAIGHT WRAP STEPS:
-
Using the 4 foot piece of your "Wrap Cord" from your kit, make an 8 inch "U" shape

-
Make it so that 8 inch "U" shape has a short side + a very long side

-
Position the "U" vertically against all of your hanging cord + pinch the top of the "U" w/ your thumb, leaving 1 inch of the short side of the "U" exposed at the top above your thumb
-
Begin wrapping the long side of the "U" around ALL of the hanging cords, including the "U". Use your thumb as leverage for the first wrap, then follow the natural line of the wrap stacking one line right on top of each other. Use a medium tension: not super tight but not so loose that the wrap loses it's shape
-
Once you are happy with the length of your straight wrap, string the long side you've been wrapping with THROUGH the loop of the bottom of the "U"- in through the front or back of the "U" does not matter!
-
Hold the bottom of the straight wrap with your thumb to keep it from unraveling - with your other hand, grasp the short 1" side sticking up at the top of the "U" + begin pulling upwards
-
This will create a little loop knot at the bottom of the "U"
-
Pull the top up so much so that the little loop knot at the bottom of the "U" pops up into the wrap knot - thus hiding it + securing your knot! *Don't pull too hard so that the loop pops out the top, just enough so that it is hidden inside the wrap!
-
Finish your Straight Wrap Knot by trimming the excess of your 4' wrap cord - push the cut ends into your Wrap Knot with the ends of your scissors (carefully:) or a pen
